Bio

I am Caroline Christine Louise Christie, aka "Sweet Liner Lou".

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Raised in London, Ontario,  Stockholm Sweden and  Victoria, BC. It was London, Ontario where I first heard the blues from Johnny Winter.

In 1984 I received a 3 year diploma in Fashion Design at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This school was exceptional for their arts programs within the fashion design program. Whilst in Toronto I was introduced to blues in the Jeff Healey style.

My Father was a jazz enthusiast, mostly the 40's, early jazz. I always wondered if perhaps that is why I like the early blues so much....a connection somehow.

Moving west in the late 80's to Whistler BC, I raised a family in Pemberton, BC and began to paint with acrylics on canvas and play the guitar again after 20 years. I loved the Beatles and decided to learn some material and eventually wrote my own lyrics, grooves and songs.

In 2014 I moved to White Rock, BC, Canada where I expanded as an artist both musically and  on canvas.  I taught myself how to play slide guitar in open tunings and some old fashioned blues licks from the old greats. I am in wonderment of  Robert Johnson and love playing a Gibson Robert Johnson L1.

I feel these Blues greats have had a big influence on me:

Robert Johnson, Johnny Winter, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Lightnin' Hopkins, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee, Koko Taylor,  Memphis Minnie and JL Hooker, Ralph Willis, JB Lenoir, Brewer Phillips, Big Mama Thornton and Lowell Fulsom and many more old greats.

I invite you to have a listen.

Truly grateful for the support and love here in White Rock, Vancouver, Maple Ridge, New Westminister, Langley, Victoria, Whistler and Pemberton.... and the many amazing music lovers, musicians and blues artists that walk this earth!
